About RK Statistics
Richard Kay provides consultancy and training services to the pharmaceutical industry under the banner of his company RK Statistics Ltd. Dr Kay spent 15 years in academia at the Universities of Salford, Heidelberg and Sheffield and in 1989 left to set up his company S-Cubed offering statistics and data management services to the pharmaceutical industry. In 1997 he merged his company with PAREXEL International where he became Vice President and Worldwide Head of Biostatistics and Programming. In 2005 he left PAREXEL to focus on his core interests through RK Statistics.
Dr Kay has an appointment as Honorary Visiting Professor in the School of Pharmacy at Cardiff University since 2010 where he teaches the Medical Statistics module on the Diploma in Pharmaceutical Medicine.
Richard is an Editor of the Journal Pharmaceutical Statistics and was an External Examiner for the Clinical Trials distance learning course at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine for a 4-year term 2013-2016. He is now an External Examiner for the Drug Development Science programme at Kings College, London. In 2019, Richard received the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine Presidents Medal for 'outstanding services to Pharmaceutical Medicine'.
